Alternative energy...electricity from the movement of ocean waves

Changing the subject for a moment, here is a look at an alternative evergy source that would be economical, global and feasible, at least for coastal areas.

Electrical engineers at Oregon State University (OSU) have already created three prototypes of devices that could harness wave energy: A permanent magnet linear generator, a permanent magnet rack and pinion gearbox, and a contactless direct drive generator buoy.
