In a bid to secure dominance in alternative media, specifically weblogs, ABC News has begun negotiating buy-outs with prominent bloggers and their sites. The deals involve a healthy stipend to successful bloggers, and In the Agora (ITA) has agreed to accept ABC's offer. In exchange ABC News will soon host ITA's blog, and ITA contributors will be given occasional assignments such as source and fact checking, and document authentication. We will be closely affiliated with The Note and our name will change to The Memo. We hope our many adoring fans will understand. The change will not affect the quality material you've come to expect; if anything, it will only improve.
