Passing thoughts

Most of the time we suspect politicians are lying or being evasive about speaking the truth.
During a campaign we need not be suspicious.
That is one time we can be certain.
After the votes are counted, they resume being duplicitous.
We call this quality "leadership."
Winners and losers alike follow this principle assiduously as they anticipate the next election.
The electorate eagerly swallows every bite.
We call this quality "supporting the results."
This, in a nutshell, is the way that leaders shape the political will.
We all love it and at some level can't wait for the next election.
